Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in highways construction. The ideal candidate will possess a HND or HNC in Quantity Surveying or a related field and will play a crucial role in managing costs, contracts, and ensuring the financial success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage project budgets, estimates, and cost plans.
- Conduct detailed measurements and valuations of works.
- Prepare and process monthly valuations and final accounts.
- Manage subcontractor orders and payments.
- Assess and value variations and change orders.
- Provide cost control and financial reporting for projects.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and costs incurred.
Qualifications & Experience:
- HND or HNC in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Proven experience in highways construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, particularly JCT and NEC.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficient in the use of quantity surveying software and tools.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Full UK driving license.
