An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Fire Engineer to join a dynamic and growing consultancy.
This role is ideal for an experienced fire engineer seeking a new challenge, offering the chance to work on diverse projects across multiple sectors.
The Senior Fire Engineer's Role
The Senior Fire Engineer will be responsible for advising clients on fire safety provisions and developing fire strategies from RIBA Stage 2 through to As-built documentation.
They will work independently or as part of a team, collaborating closely with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Producing and presenting fire strategy documents to clients, building control, and fire authorities.
- Conducting site visits and inspections for both existing buildings and active construction projects.
- Marking up design plans using Bluebeam software.
- Reviewing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) reports and applying zone modelling where appropriate.
- Supervising fire safety installations during construction to ensure compliance.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
The Senior Fire Engineer Will Have
- A degree in fire engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered status or ambition to achieve it.
- Demonstrable experience in fire engineering, including structural fire engineering.
- A deep understanding of UK legislation and fire design guidance.
- Strong analytical skills and report writing ability.
- Proficiency in IT applications such as Word, Excel, and Bluebeam.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
- A full UK driving licence.
