We are excited to offer an exceptional career opportunity for a Head of Property Services at one of the UK's largest housing associations. This pivotal role is based in London and offers a hybrid working model, blending office-based and remote work.
About the Role:
As the Head of Property Services, you will be responsible for delivering a consistent M&E servicing and repairs service with an annual budget of approximately 35m-40m. You will ensure that our supply chain partners deliver M&E services that are prompt, safe, and responsive to the needs of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the Property Services strategy and business plan, aligning with the organisation's mission and values.
- Manage significant operational areas, ensuring contractors and supply chain partners adhere to Health and Safety regulations.
- Oversee contract management programs and manage a portfolio of major facilities services.
- Set and manage budget plans for Property Services, ensuring the achievement of business objectives.
- Evaluate team capabilities, identify skill gaps, and prioritize development activities.
- Lead stakeholder engagement, understanding their needs and concerns to support effective communication.
- Represent the organisation in various industry forums, boards, and committees.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Degree level qualification in a property-related discipline and/or leadership experience.
- Extensive experience as a Head of Service in a national housing association.
- Proven track record of leading change in large organisations.
- Deep understanding of the social housing environment, including regulation and emerging government policy.
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-value maintenance services and achieve high levels of resident satisfaction.
- Experience in managing complex and high-value budgets.
- Solid knowledge of housing construction, building pathology, and the operation of mechanical and electrical assets.
Desirable:
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB).
