Sonic Summary

A Cloud Engineer is needed for a 6 or 12 month engagement with a high-profile Defence client, requiring active eDV / UKIC DV Clearance.
Candidates should possess extensive experience with AWS and a strong ability to solve complex business challenges as a subject matter expert.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Bash, or Python, along with a solid understanding of Linux systems and AWS operational best practices is essential.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, AWS Associate-level certifications, and CI/CD pipeline implementation is advantageous.
The position is Inside of IR35, offering a salary of up to £650 per day, with a requirement to be onsite a minimum of three days a week.

I am looking for a Cloud Engineer to join my client on an initial 6 or 12 month engagement. This will be working for a high profile Defence client so you MUST have active eDV / UKIC DV Clearance to be considered for this role.You should have expertise in several of the following areas:

Extensive experience with AWS and a strong ability to address complex business challenges, recognized as a subject matter expert in AWS
Proven skill in architecting and implementing solutions using AWS services, including EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, Lambda, RDS, KMS, ELB, SNS, SQS, and IAM
Proficiency in scripting with languages such as Shell, Bash, or Python
Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking, routing, and firewall configurations
A deep grasp of AWS operational best practices, particularly in monitoring, observability, and FinOps
Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation, CDK, and Terraform

Additionally, it would be advantageous to have experience with:

AWS Associate-level certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, Developer, or DevOps)
Coding proficiency in at least one language compatible with AWS Lambda
Working with container technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, EKS, and ECS
Implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, TeamCity, or Bitbucket
Conducting automated testing of code using appropriate testing framework
