Senior Systems Engineer (Windows Cloud IaC) London / WFH to £85k

Are you a Senior Systems Engineer with an automation mindset looking to progress your career?

You could be progressing your career at a global FinTech.

As a Senior Systems Engineer at this global financial software house you will join a newly formed Operations team responsible for the Managed Service platform (SaaS) with the primary focus of developing, maintaining and continuously improving the services, supporting processes, standardisation and availability.

You'll be focussed on maintaining the core application platforms, mainly on-premise but with also with AWS cloud based systems, as well as delivering on internal projects and carrying out BAU activities such as patching and escalated application / infrastructure support in conjunction with the development team.

This Senior Systems Engineer role will allow you to take ownership of projects from design phase through to implementation, documentation and knowledge sharing. You'll be an integral part of a highly collaborative Agile team but able to work with a high degree of autonomy.

Location / WFH:

You can work from home most of the time, meeting up with colleagues 2-3 days a week in the City offices, when there you can you enjoy a range of facilities including large kitchen, café and all the latest kit to work on.

About you:

  • You have experience in a similar Systems / Infrastructure / DevOps Engineer role with a strong knowledge of Windows, some Linux knowledge would also be great
  • You have strong PowerShell scripting skills and a good knowledge of Virtualisation
  • You have a good knowledge of SQL principles and database deployments
  • You have experience within AWS environments (will also consider Azure or on-prem experience if you're happy to use AWS)
  • You have a good understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and associated tools such as Ansible / Terraform; ideally also containerisation with Docker
  • You're self organising and able to take ownership of projects
  • You're collaborative and excellent communication skills
