Business Development Executive - Tottenham

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development Executive to join our new branch team in Tottenham. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving sales and margin growth for a newly established branch. The successful candidate will focus on generating new business, nurturing client relationships, and ensuring long-term customer retention and satisfaction.

In the initial phase, the primary goal will be to attract new customers and secure business for the branch. Over time, the role will evolve to include managing and growing those accounts while ensuring the business remains competitive and profitable.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. New Business Development:
  • Proactively identify and target potential customers within the local market.
  • Develop tailored proposals and solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Build a pipeline of opportunities through networking, cold calling, and client visits.
  • Promote the branch’s services and product range to drive footfall and sales.

2. Account Management:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met efficiently.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and take proactive steps to address any concerns.
  • Develop strategies to prevent customer churn and maintain loyalty.

3. Sales and Margin Growth:

  • Achieve and exceed sales and margin targets as set by the Branch Manager.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Work collaboratively with the branch team to ensure seamless service delivery and a positive customer experience.
  • Develop pricing strategies and negotiate terms to maximise profitability.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within the builders merchants or construction industry.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a clear understanding of sales and margin principles.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to achieving targets.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Familiarity with the local market and customer base is an advantage.
