Our client offers Mechanical and Electrical Services covering the London and South of England. Working directly for Clients and Main Contractors, specialising with residential, education, healthcare.
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced M&E Commercial Manager to join our dynamic team on a prestigious site-based project in Greenwich, London. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years of industry experience, and a proven track record in managing commercial aspects of M&E projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all commercial activities for the project, including cost management, procurement, and contract administration.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery within budget and timelines.
- Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for the project.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost efficiency and compliance.
- Monitor project costs and variations, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, health & safety regulations, and company policies.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, financial performance, and potential risks.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the mechanical engineering industry, ideally in a similar commercial role.
- Strong knowledge of M&E systems, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proven experience in budget management, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and detail-oriented approach.
- Proficiency in relevant software, including MS Office and project management tools.
Desirable:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIBSE, or similar).
