This is an opportunity for a Project Running Architect looking to make a move to design management or a Design Manager looking for a new challenge to join a highly regarded construction team on fantastic projects within the prime sections of the hospitality and residential markets in London and Europe.

Client Details

This new role has been created within the Design Management function of an established, privately-owned main contractor who have a reputation for excellence and high quality delivery. Their project experience is focused within the high quality / prime markets in both the hospitality and residential sectors.

The team has a flat structure and offers excellent opportunity to take on a broad design management role leading your own projects. Additionally, the business is known for rewarding successful employees and retaining their staff long-term with excellent project opportunities.

Description

As the Design Manager you will work across 1-2 projects depending on scale, programme, and complexity. Your key responsibilities will include:

- Appointment of the design team and relevant sub-consultants

- Management and coordination of design development as well as some sketching of design ideas as required

- Supporting the sub-contractor procurement process from a design/technical perspective

- Coordination of technical design ensuring compliance and buildability on site

- Assisting with RFIs and generating build solutions on site as required

- Overseeing quality of delivery and adherence to client ERs throughout

This role will generally be based on site in central London and with the option to work from the Essex office as needs be. There is no WFH on offer with this position.

Profile

A successful Design Manager should have:

  • An architecture qualification (RIBA, ARB)
  • Project running experience through stages 3-7 (as an architect or design manager)
  • A proven attention to detail delivering high quality finishes within hospitality or residential schemes
  • Excellent communication skills with a background coordinating with design teams and/or build teams

You must have the right to work in the UK and will be comfortable working on site/in office.
