With approximately 200 wholesaler and distributer tenants, the projects team currently have an important role available on this significant redevelopment project which offers fantastic career advancement potential for the right ambitious person.

Key responsibilities of the Development Project Manager:

  • To develop, monitor, coordinate and control the redevelopment project worth £300 million.
  • To act as the key day to day project interface ensuring that project objectives are met and that the project is delivered to time and cost targets and to agreed quality standards.
  • Work on all elements of the new and current schemes including land sale appraisals. Planning feasibility, delivery and handover.
  • To monitor and report to an agreed timetable on the delivery of all obligations under the Development Agreement.
  • To monitor, review and report on the Development Partner performance against the Development Agreement obligations and agreed performance standards.
  • To identify and address other property/operational matters which may have a direct or indirect impact on the market redevelopment project.

Ideally you will have strong leadership and commercial negotiating skills with experience of driving outcomes with development partners, commercial tenants, Non-Executive Board members, internal teams, external stakeholders and consultants.

Skills & Experience of the Development Project Manager:

  • A background in real estate and property development appraisals.
  • Proven team leadership competencies.
  • Good people management skills are required including the ability to upwardly manage Clients. Partners and Stakeholders.
  • Well-developed knowledge and experience of all of the main project management concepts, tools, software and techniques.
  • Experience of coordinating and managing project management commissions for multi-tenanted large format redevelopments.
  • Experience of a phased construction project within a "live" environment where business continuity has been an essential factor in determining the project’s overall success.
  • Well-developed knowledge of construction industry technical matters.
  • Experience of developing, and gaining agreement of, building specifications on behalf of a client organisation.
  • Experience of managing the financial aspects of a project including budgetary controls, change processes and contingency planning.
  • An understanding of landlord and tenant matters.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Experience of maintaining the client organisations and professional team’s focus on programme, quality and cost aspects of project delivery.
  • Experience in managing a Change Control process during the construction period including the allocation of assessment responsibilities to a professional team.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of planning and development matters in the London context.
  • Experience of delivering large scale multi-tenanted construction projects with either distribution, processing or logistics.
  • Experience of delivering large scale multi-tenanted internal fit-out works for industrial, manufacturing, processing, food handling or logistics projects.
