My consultancy client is seeking a talented and motivated Pre-Construction/Design Manager to join their dynamic team, working on sustainability projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on exciting projects in the property and construction industry, with a focus on sustainable estate transformation (new build EV car charging locations, retail upgrades, hydrogen production facilities etc). The role offers flexibility, career progression, and exposure to a variety of high-impact projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the pre-construction/design process and ensure smooth information flow from client instructions to approved designs.
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, planning consultants, and construction teams to meet project objectives.
  • Monitor multiple projects at various stages of design.
  • Focus on sustainable projects and low-carbon technologies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the team in delivering projects to key performance indicators.
  • Review and comment on design drawings with a keen eye for detail.
  • Oversee the project team to achieve successful project outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Master's in a construction-related field, with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in commercial or roadside/petrol construction projects is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of emerging energy technologies (e.g., EV charging stations) is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Town and Country Planning and Building Regulations.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, OneNote, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Ability to work as part of a team and think through complex issues logically.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the UK (excluding Northern Ireland).
