Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Project Manager you will oversee contracts to ensure high standards, programme adherence, and value for money, with effective spend forecasting and budget control.
  • Work closely with the Programme Manager to lead, motivate, and manage a multidisciplinary team, including surveyors and contract administrators.
  • Enforce contract governance, monitor contractor performance, and conduct regular operational meetings.
  • Ensure the availability of property and asset information (e.g., condition surveys, asbestos data) to support work execution.
  • Maintain effective budgetary control, promptly addressing any budgetary issues.
  • Implement mechanisms for post-work inspections and ensure proper contractor payments.
  • Prepare accurate and timely year-end accounts, final accounts, and budget reports.
  • Consult with tenants, keeping them informed about works and addressing their needs, particularly those of vulnerable residents.
  • Update stock condition information to reflect completed work and decency standards.
  • Produce monthly performance reports covering budget spend, progress, satisfaction rates, and risk management strategies.
  • Oversee the Section 20 (S20) process and collaborate with Leasehold Services to ensure proper consultation and cost recovery.
  • Work with contractors and planning departments to manage workflows for planning applications.
  • Directly manage or commission clerks of work to ensure strict quality control and efficient snagging resolution.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance, including CDM regulations, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding policies.
The Candidate

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic professional with a strong track record in managing large-scale capital programmes.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant professional qualification or degree.
  • Proven expertise in managing multi-million-pound contracts and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Extensive project management experience (minimum five years) with successful delivery of large capital programmes.
  • Knowledge of EU tendering requirements, asset management, investment appraisal, CDM, and asbestos regulations.
  • High-level budget management skills with a strong track record of handling multi-million-pound budgets.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Leadership experience, including managing multidisciplinary teams and fostering a positive, motivating environment.
  • Commitment to delivering excellent customer service and resolving complaints effectively.

  • Flexibility to attend meetings outside of office hours, including weekends.
