Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage building safety projects, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, including the Building Safety Act and Fire Safety Regulations.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of building safety improvement projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Conduct building risk assessments and safety audits, identifying issues and implementing remedial actions.
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with safety objectives and statutory requirements.
- Provide expert guidance on building safety matters, staying up to date with evolving regulations and best practices.
- Prepare detailed project reports, budgets, and schedules, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Foster a culture of safety, ensuring the well-being of residents, staff, and stakeholders in all project activities.
About You:
- Qualified Professional: Degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., construction, building surveying, engineering) and professional membership (e.g., RICS, CIOB, or similar).
- Building Safety Expertise: Strong knowledge of building safety regulations, including fire safety, structural safety, and the Building Safety Act.
- Project Management Skills: Proven experience delivering building safety or construction projects, with strong organizational and budget management abilities.
- Problem-Solver: Ability to identify risks and implement effective solutions in complex environments.
- Effective Communicator: Strong interpersonal skills, with experience engaging with residents, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Experience in a local authority or social housing context is highly desirable.
