We are a rapidly growing Design and Build (D&B) company based in central London, specializing in high-quality construction and renovation projects. With project values ranging from 200k to 2 million, and our largest project to date at 5 million, we are expanding our team to maintain our commitment to health, safety, and compliance across all our sites.

Job Overview:

As a Health and Safety Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring all health and safety protocols are met across our diverse range of projects. You will be responsible for creating and reviewing health and safety documentation, conducting site visits, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements. This role will require strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to ensuring safety on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

Health & Safety Management:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures across all projects.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and industry standards (CDM 2015, HSE regulations, etc.).
  • Identify and mitigate risks across various construction sites.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Write, review, and update risk assessments, method statements, and safety reports.
  • Check and approve health and safety reports submitted by site teams or subcontractors.
  • Compile incident reports and ensure timely communication of health and safety updates to the management team.

Site Visits & Inspections:

  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor and assess health and safety compliance.
  • Provide hands-on guidance to site staff on best health and safety practices.
  • Ensure all contractors adhere to health and safety regulations.

Training & Compliance:

  • Deliver health and safety training to site personnel as needed.
  • Ensure that all staff and subcontractors are informed of and comply with company safety standards.
  • Conduct safety audits and propose corrective actions where necessary.

Key Requirements:

  • NEBOSH or IOSH qualifications (or equivalent) are essential.
  • Previous experience in a Health and Safety management role, preferably within the construction or D&B sector.
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation and construction regulations.
  • Strong report-writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with site teams, contractors, and management.
  • Full, clean driving license and willingness to travel to various sites across London.
