Essential Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- A high level of motivation, self-drive, and dynamism
- Enthusiasm and a strong commercial mindset, with a proven track record in Contracts Management
- A degree qualification in Construction, Building Surveying, or a related field
- Significant experience in external refurbishment, restoration, and conservation projects
- Proven ability to manage projects from inception to completion, including financial oversight
- Strong initiative and the ability to work independently
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage projects ensuring adherence to quality standards, health and safety regulations, and fiscal controls, delivering successful and profitable outcomes
- Oversee multiple high-quality restoration projects, primarily based in London
- Vett, appoint, and manage sub-contractors for efficient project execution
- Price project variations, prepare valuations, and finalise accounts
- Prepare and present monthly interim cost reports to the company Director and clients
- Resolve contractual disputes with sub-contractors and clients effectively and professionally
- Maintain strong client relationships, building on an existing robust client base
- Provide fortnightly progress reports covering project status, programme updates, quality, and financial performance
- Lead and manage site teams, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation
- Act as a mentor for junior Contracts Managers, fostering their professional growth
