Food Technician - Secondary School (Newham)

We are a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Newham looking for a Food Technician to join our team. This is a fantastic role for someone who enjoys working in a practical environment and contributing to students' learning and development.

The Role:

As a Food Technician, you will:

  • Prepare ingredients, equipment, and resources for practical food technology lessons.
  • Support teachers during lessons, ensuring students have the materials and guidance needed to succeed.
  • Assist students with practical tasks, promoting safe and hygienic practices.
  • Maintain and clean equipment, ensuring the kitchen areas meet health and safety standards.
  • Help manage stock levels, including ordering and organising supplies.
  • Provide administrative support to the Food Technology department when required.
About You:

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has a passion for food and enjoys working in an educational setting.
  • Is organised, reliable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Has knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (a qualification in food hygiene is an advantage but not essential).
