Role Description:Our client is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join their growing cleaning services team in South London. In this pivotal role, you will drive business growth by identifying and securing new cleaning contracts across a variety of sectors, including healthcare, commercial offices, education and public sector clients. This is a hybrid position, combining on-the-road client visits with office-based work for planning and coordination. Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new cleaning contracts with clients in healthcare, commercial, education and public sectors
  • Develop a robust sales pipeline and convert prospects into long-term contracts
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers (facilities managers, procurement heads, operations directors, etc.)
  • Leverage your network and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders and build trust in services.
  • Support with contract bids, proposals, and tender submissions
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging opportunities and stay ahead of industry trends
  • Provide insights and feedback to the leadership team to refine offerings and strategy
  • Work closely with internal teams (operations, service delivery, compliance) to ensure seamless onboarding and exceptional service delivery for new clients
  • Coordinate with these teams to meet client expectations from the start of the contract.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of business development or sales experience in the cleaning industry or a related facilities management field
  • A proven track record of winning new business and achieving sales targets is essential
  • Experience working with or securing public sector contracts (such as contracts for healthcare facilities, educational institutions, or government buildings) is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with public sector tender processes and compliance standards will be a strong advantage
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and decision-makers, crafting compelling proposals and pitching solutions effectively
  • A proactive, results-driven attitude with the ability to work independently to drive sales
  • Tenacious and resilient in managing longer sales cycles.
