Barbering Trainer

We are seeking a dedicated Barbering Trainer for the Offender Learning Sector, based in Thamesmead. This role involves working with small groups of prison-based learners, delivering Barbering Level 1 and 2 qualifications. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing learners’ skills, knowledge, and behaviours, supporting their long-term goals and aspirations.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated Barbering Level 1 and 2 curriculum to small groups of learners.
- Develop and implement engaging teaching strategies that meet the needs of all learners.
- Monitor and assess learners’ progress, providing feedback and additional support as needed.
- Collaborate with other educational staff to enhance the learning environment and curriculum.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment that promotes positive behaviour and compliance with institutional regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in developing an engaging and differentiated curriculum.
- Hold QTS / QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Degree or equivalent subject specialist qualification, or willingness to work towards this.
- Proven track record of teaching to a good or outstanding standard.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire learners.
