THE ROLE:
As the Catering Trainer, you will play a crucial role in helping our learners develop essential skills that will serve them throughout their lives and possible employment opportunities upon release. You will be responsible for effectively managing and assessing learners while they work in the HMP Prison kitchen. Working alongside prison-employed staff and fitting in with the prison regime and constraints. Therefore, the ability to work effectively as a team is an essential for this role.
This is a full-time role, 4.5 days. Monday – Thursday 8 to 5 with a 1pm finish on a Friday. All work takes place on site within the working hours and there is not a requirement to complete any additional work during the evening or weekends.Â
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of learners to achieve their NVQ in catering.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, health and safety and protocols e.g. GDPR, enrolment and attendance.
- Accountable for quality assurance and quality improvement across the qualification.
- Liaise with key prison personnel in relation to pastoral care of learners, as required.
- Ensure full compliance to prison systems, processes and protocol.
REQUIREMENTS:
Essential
- Catering industry experience
- Catering industry related and TAQA qualifications
- experience)
- Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
- Gain/hold and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
