Cedar have partnered with a successful and growing insurance firm who are hiring a newly created Credit Controller. This is a fast-paced and evolving credit control role, reporting to the Head of Credit Control. The role involves ensuring the timely collection of premiums due, managing broker and client relationships, and maintaining effective credit control processes.

Key Requirements:

  • Insurance experience is essential
  • Lloyd's market experience is essential

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chasing brokers and clients for outstanding insurance premiums.
  • Producing reports including aged debt, statement of accounts, and ad hoc reports for brokers, underwriters, and internal teams.
  • Using AutoRek to match received funds to premiums.
  • Collaborating with underwriters, brokers, and the Head of Credit Control to resolve queries.
  • Addressing and resolving business and departmental queries.
  • Developing and maintaining an effective process for return and adjustable premiums.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely payment of funds from the IBA account.
  • Minimising unallocated cash and outstanding debt through a risk-based approach.
  • Identifying, reporting, and managing doubtful or bad debts at the earliest opportunity.
  • Maintaining up-to-date procedures and documentation.
  • Assisting the Credit Control Manager with ad hoc tasks.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Analytical and presentation skills to ensure clear and appropriate reporting.
  • Excellent communication and persuasion skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly numerate with strong attention to detail.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Solid understanding of the insurance market and Lloyd's of London market.
  • Knowledge of offshore and onshore financial dynamics.
  • Minimum of two years' credit control experience within the insurance market.
  • Experience in internal and external reporting.
