Senior Property Binder Underwriter (International)

Company Overview: A large insurance firm with a diverse portfolio, including property binders. This will focus on a large international property book that is looking to expand into the UK and targeted European markets.

Job Description:

  • Managing delegated authority, which constitutes 50% of the income.
  • Expanding the book in the UK and Europe, to balance the geographical split of the existing book.
  • Overseeing a portfolio that includes property, casualty, and consortiums, with a significant portion in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
  • Identifying new opportunities and strategies to write business outside of our current markets, especially in a competitive and soft market environment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Underwriter (or Underwriter), preferably with international exposure.
  • Strong understanding of the insurance market dynamics, particularly in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe.
  • Ability to manage and grow a diverse portfolio.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
