Position: Curriculum and IQA Lead Location: Hybrid/North London Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 Type: Permanent The Role The IQA and Curriculum Lead is tasked with delivering exceptional training and assessment to all apprentices and or adult skills-funded programmes in line with government policies, contractual compliance, and funding allocations. This role involves managing a team of tutors, leading the delivery of standards/frameworks or AEB qualifications, reporting regularly on performance, and creating new opportunities for the organisation to expand its portfolio of work and respond to the evolving needs of existing and future customers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities o Monitor tutors' performance to ensure timely task completion and adherence to assessment practices as required by the framework & Awarding Body specifications. o Innovate and implement curriculum changes that align with the organisation's needs, local communities' priorities, government priorities, and awarding bodies' requirements. o Contribute to the development and execution of the Service's Quality Improvement Strategy by ensuring excellence in assessment, moderation, and verification processes. o Prepare staff and program-related documentation for inspection visits, with particular attention given to the accuracy of timetables, work diaries, scheme of work, and lesson plans. o Introduce, implement, and recommend additional measures to improve teaching and learning. o Lead the Internal Verification of the provision. o Implement quality practices that meet business, government, and contractual obligations requirements. o Improve the quality of teaching, learning, and assessment, exceeding National Averages for success and enhancing learners' experience. o Coordinate, support, and execute informal and formal Quality Assurance observations of each point in a learning journey. o Maintain appropriate records in line with awarding body expectations and support the Exams Officer in achievement recording, coordinating timely claims to maximise learner achievement. o Provide monthly reports to the Quality and Curriculum Manager detailing areas of continued improvement and further development. o Utilise all available technology to ensure learners receive appropriate, high-quality teaching and learning sessions.
Skills & Experience o Minimum of a level 3 in teaching and training and or a willingness to work towards level 5 or PGCE in teaching and learning qualification o Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification o Relevant QCF Assessor qualification – e.g., D32/D33/A1/CAVA/TAQA Assessor o Relevant Internal Verifier/Internal Quality Assurer qualification – e.g., D34/V1 o Clear understanding of learners’ assessment, teaching, learning, achievement and progression o Experience in o leading and managing teams o delivering quality assurance within training programmes o data analysis and performance management o working with employers o working with and understanding the requirements of Awarding Organisations o delivering internal training to improve quality assurance practices to be outstanding o Clear understanding of verification, moderation and standardisation o Ability to deliver staff development activities related to improving assessment practice in moderation and standardisation o Commitment to a learner-centred approach o Ability to build a rapport and good working relationships with partner organisations o Knowledge of Apprenticeship Reforms and associated Government priorities, including funding methodology, frameworks/standards and End Point Assessment.
