Asset Lead - Linear (Highways / Pavements)

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing asset management activities for highways linear assets within the Asset Investment Team
• Owning and implementing asset management strategies covering the lifecycle of highways linear assets
• Acting as a sponsor in gateway meetings to ensure lifecycle renewal projects deliver expected benefits within budget
• Collaborating with the Engineering Manager and the Commercial & Asset Delivery team to optimise scopes and delivery methodologies
• Supporting the Engineering Manager with technical approvals and alternative proposals
• Driving innovation, efficiency and carbon reduction throughout the gateway process
• Developing innovation business cases based on long-term asset risks and opportunities
• Supporting the development of the Asset Management Forward Plan and Annual Asset Management Report
• Understanding and acting as a source of knowledge for contractual and system requirements around asset management obligations
• Collaborating with relevant teams to understand impacts of strategic changes, standards changes, and third-party schemes on contract and asset performance

• Experience in managing large-scale and complex infrastructure assets, ideally highways linear assets
• Chartered Engineer (ICE or equivalent) or relevant accreditation
• Ability to set, challenge, and refine Asset Management Strategies for highways linear assets
• Strong decision-making skills, balancing stakeholder requirements
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proactivity and ability to operate autonomously in a senior team
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• IT literacy; knowledge of Asset Management IT systems is a plus
