Charity Recruitment is currently hiring a Customer Service Assistant to join an international charity based near Camberwell, London. This is a temp-to-perm position, offering a fantastic opportunity to work within a well-established organisation dedicated to making a difference. This role is office-based, and candidates must be available to start immediately.

As a Customer Service Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional support to the charity’s donors, supporters, and the general public. You will be responsible for handling a high volume of incoming telephone calls and responding to inquiries via email and written communication. Acting as the first point of contact, you will represent the charity in a professional and friendly manner.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Answering and managing high volumes of incoming phone calls from supporters and the public.
  • Providing excellent customer service, addressing inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Acknowledging and thanking supporters for their contributions and engagement.
  • Handling queries efficiently, ensuring they are directed to the appropriate team members when necessary.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks,
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure that supporter concerns and inquiries are resolved in a timely and effective manner.

Experience

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a role that involved managing high call volumes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with a wide range of people.
  • A proactive and empathetic approach to customer service, ensuring that supporters feel valued and heard.
  • A high level of competence in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and the ability to work with CRM systems.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with great attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple inquiries at once.
