The technician will report to the Engineering Shift Leader and assist shift teams to ensure all works are performed safely, efficiently, and within specified timelines. This is a continental shift role for an experienced HVAP.
Role Summary:
- Carry out routine maintenance on building plant, equipment, and systems, ensuring all work meets or exceeds service level agreements.
- Respond to Building Management System (BMS) alarms and perform emergency repairs as required.
- Manage the Permit to Work system and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
- Create and utilize switching schedules, SOPs, and EOPs in line with company policies and Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
- Maintain Evaporative Cooling Systems and domestic water systems to comply with the L8 standard.
- Ensure availability of suitable spares for maintenance tasks.
- Keep comprehensive maintenance records through REALM task sheets.
- Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments to ensure safe working practices.
- Supervise engineering subcontractors and ensure compliance with contractual and site processes.
- Foster good working relationships with CBRE and client staff.
- Ensure a safe working environment in compliance with company and client policies and procedures.
- Represent CBRE professionally to clients and visitors, promoting excellent customer service.
- Maintain professional and technical skills through continuous personal development.
- Ensure work packs include necessary documentation and review subcontractor RAMS.
- Ensure training and personal development are up to date.
- Support incident management in the event of unplanned incidents or faults on site.
- HVAP responsibilities applicable to this role.
Experience / Skillset Required:
- Manual Handling Training (advantageous).
- HV Authorisation.
- Current Wiring Regulations certificate.
- Level 3 NVQ in a related discipline.
- Emergency First Aid at Work Qualification.
- Experience managing incidents or faults in a business-critical environment.
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role within a similar organisation.
- Strong understanding of health and safety obligations in maintenance activities.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Numerate and literate.
- Strong diligence in safe working practices.
- Self-motivated with a high level of personal integrity.
- Ability to work well both in a team and independently.
- Organised and capable of working in high-pressure environments.
- Courteous and presentable, with exposure to clients at all levels.
- Ability to ascend and descend vertical access equipment.
- Flexibility regarding working hours.
- PASMA & IPAF certifications (preferred).
- Knowledge of multiple interlinked systems (Fire, PMS, BMS).
- Strong ownership and accountability skills.
