We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in London, specializing in data centre construction projects. This role is pivotal in overseeing the commercial management of complex, large-scale technical projects in one of the most dynamic and fast-growing sectors.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take a leading role in ensuring project budgets, costs, and financial performance are effectively managed. You’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget, while also mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities-
Commercial Management:
- Lead all aspects of cost control, financial reporting, and forecasting across projects.
- Manage and monitor project budgets, identifying variances and implementing cost-saving measures.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of valuations, claims, and final accounts.

Procurement Leadership:
- Strategize and oversee procurement processes for subcontractors, suppliers, and materials.
- Negotiate contracts and secure competitive terms with subcontractors and vendors.

Contract Administration:
- Manage contractual obligations, ensuring compliance with standard forms of contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT).
- Handle variations, disputes, and claims to maintain project financial stability.
- Advise on and mitigate commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure seamless project delivery.

Leadership and Mentoring:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior and assistant quantity surveyors.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing commercial team culture.

Reporting:
- Deliver accurate and timely financial reports, cost assessments, and cash flow forecasts to stakeholders.
- Provide commercial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in quantity surveying, with a track record of working on complex MEP or data centre projects.
- MRICS or equivalent professional accreditation (preferred but not essential).
- Comprehensive knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., NEC, JCT).
- Proven experience managing budgets on large-scale, technical construction projects.
- Proficiency in commercial and construction management tools (e.g., CostX, CATO, MS Excel).
