Our client are seeking a Pensions Data Analyst to work on complex pension data extraction, analysis, cleansing, and processing. As a Pension Data analyst you will be responsible for delivering scheme events and projects in line with client and contractual requirements, ensuring high-quality service and compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Scheme Events Leads and Managers to deliver scheme events and projects.
  • Review the work of Pensions Data Technicians, providing feedback and technical support.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality in scheme event processing and project delivery.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and liaise with internal colleagues.
  • Identify and report risks, breaches, and potential business improvements.
  • Adhere to quality management systems and pensions/FCA regulations.
  • Assist the management team with service delivery and business support tasks.

Key Tasks

  • Lead the delivery of assigned projects and scheme events.
  • Perform complex data processes, including extractions, transformations, uploads, and bulk calculations in Excel.
  • Build and enhance Excel templates and macros for efficiency.
  • Maintain audit trails and ensure quality control of communications and calculations.
  • Provide project updates and time estimates to stakeholders.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for internal change initiatives and client projects.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Defined Benefit (DB) and/or Defined Contribution (DC) pension schemes.
  • Strong pension calculations and bulk data analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in pension administration and work management systems.
  • High attention to detail and quality management.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including:
    • Filters, sorting, and pivot tables.
    • Lookups, IF and nested IF statements, date calculations, and formatting.
    • Importing data/text files and using data validation.
  • Project management skills.
  • A-level Maths, a Degree with a maths element, or equivalent experience in complex data analysis.
