Principal Database Architect (SQL AWS RDS) London / WFH to £130k

Would you like to join a growing and profitable start-up that is viewed as a leading FinTech disruptor in a senior role that will allow you a great deal of influence and progression?

As a Principal Database Architect you will lead the design, implementation and optimisation of database solutions, playing a key role in driving the strategy, architecture and operation of database systems with a focus on Microsoft SQL Server RDS on AWS. You'll create database models, schema designs and performance tuning strategies to support OLTP and OLAP workloads and design and implement database backup and recovery processes, ensuring data integrity and security in cloud environments.

This is a senior, impactful role where you'll work on multiple concurrent projects and provide technical leadership within a small, talented team.

Location / WFH:

There's a hybrid policy, with two days in the brand new London offices and flexibility to work from home three days a week.

About you:

  • You have strong experience of database design, implementation and support of Microsoft SQL Server including managing RDS for SQL Server in AWS environments
  • You have expertise in SQL query optimisation, indexing strategies and performance tuning
  • You have a good understanding of database security best practices
  • You have a software engineering background (ideally with C# .Net)
  • You're able to assess, recommend and create strategy for database projects
  • You have excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills
