In line with the impending retirement of Chambers’ long standing fees clerk, Chambers is now seeking a skilled individual to join its award-winning staff team to successfully manage the fees collection and payment processes for its barrister members. Reporting to the Chambers Director and Head of Finance, they will ensure prompt debt collection, income monitoring, and efficient payment processing. They will play a key role in ensuring the ongoing success and development of Chambers’ fees functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fee Collection - Monitor outstanding fees to ensure prompt payment with continual optimisation of processes to achieve efficient collection.
- Income Monitoring – Track income and aged debt; regularly report to the Chambers Director and/or Head of Finance in order to maintain consistent revenue and raise concerns accordingly.
- Queries and service – Promptly deal with queries with regard to outstanding fees.
- Build strong relationships with clients, barristers and colleagues.
- Provide general assistance with other finance related projects as required by the Chambers Director and Head of Finance.
Skills & Experience:
- Fee collection experience in barristers’ chambers.
- Experience of LEX case management system (or equivalent in barristers’ chambers) essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Able to work collaboratively with colleagues and be a self-motivated, proactive individual.
- Highly organised, with excellent communication and numeracy skills.
- Ability to handle multiple deadlines and priorities.
