We are seeking a Direct Payments Officer to join our friendly Financial Assessment team within a local authority. This role offers a brilliant opportunity to play a key role in providing a responsive service to customers, residents, and other users of Council services, ensuring a smooth and consistent customer journey.
Day-to-day of the role:- Provide customer support for Direct Payment customers and act as their point of reference.
- Resolve issues with Direct Payment card accounts and offer advice to customers with Direct Payment funds.
- Reconcile Direct Payment accounts and reclaim any unspent funds.
- Apply to DWP for benefits entitlements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to ask insightful questions and think outside the box.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
- Experience in a customer-focused service, providing excellent customer service.
- Proven ability to administer processes to tight timescales and with a high level of accuracy.
