Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Band 6 Dietitian to join our team remotely in a locum capacity. This role involves providing expert nutritional care and management to support patients with a variety of needs, including weight restoration following unplanned weight loss. The successful candidate will deliver individualized nutritional assessments, provide tailored advice, and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team (MDT) members to ensure coordinated, holistic care. This is a remote, full-time role requiring immediate availability.
Key Responsibilities-
Nutritional Assessment & Treatment Planning
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients, considering their presenting condition, medical history, social context, and current medications.
- Develop personalized dietary treatment plans in consultation with patients, relatives, and carers to support recovery, weight restoration, and overall health goals.
- Provide clear, evidence-based advice to empower patients and caregivers in managing nutrition-related aspects of their health.

Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Collaboration
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with MDT members, such as doctors, nurses, and other allied health professionals, to ensure well-coordinated and integrated patient care.
- Contribute to case discussions, sharing insights into dietary management to enhance the collective care plan.

Risk Management
- Evaluate and actively manage risks and benefits associated with dietary interventions in alignment with MDT care objectives.
- Monitor patient progress, adjusting dietary interventions as necessary, and ensure any identified risks are documented and addressed promptly.

Weight Restoration Support
- Provide specialized support for patients experiencing unplanned weight loss, focusing on safe and effective weight restoration strategies.
- Use a compassionate approach to help patients regain healthy weight, offering continuous guidance, monitoring, and motivation throughout their recovery.
- Qualifications: Degree in Dietetics with current HCPC registration.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Band 6 Dietitian or equivalent, with expertise in assessing and managing a range of nutritional conditions, ideally including weight restoration.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of nutritional assessment, intervention, and management strategies.
- Experience working within an MDT framework and a commitment to collaborative patient care.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance and build supportive relationships remotely.
