Nutrition Support Dietitian - Band 6

About the Role: 

As a Band 6 Dietitian, you will play a vital role in supporting patients in the community who are at risk of malnutrition. You’ll work closely with patients, their families, and carers, using a food-based approach and appropriate prescribing of oral nutritional supplements in line with our pathway and the North Central London (NCL) formulary. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in home enteral tube feeding. 

Your responsibilities as a Dietitian: 

  • Community Support: Provide care for patients at risk of malnutrition by liaising with patients, relatives, and carers, using a food-based approach and prescribing oral nutritional supplements in line with the North Central London (NCL) formulary. 

  • Home Enteral Tube Feeding: Gain experience in supporting patients on home enteral tube feeding, contributing to their nutritional care. 

  • Collaborative Communication: Regularly interact with GP practices, hospital dietitians, pharmacists, and other community-based teams, including nursing, One Care Home, and Frailty MDTs, ensuring coordinated care. 

  • Network Contribution: Contribute to various professional networks across Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH) and North Central London (NCL), enhancing the quality of care provided. 

  • Student Supervision: Supervise dietetic students, assisting in their professional development and gaining valuable leadership experience. 

  • Management Experience: Manage dietetic assistants and junior staff, further developing your leadership and management skills.

Who are we looking for?   

  • The ideal candidate will have skills and experience across a range of clinical dietetic specialties, gained in either an acute or community setting.  

  • Degree /Diploma in Dietetics, Current AHP with UK HCPC registration 

  • Membership of the British Dietetics Association 

  • You should be enthusiastic about specialising in oral nutritional support and home enteral tube feeding and ready to take the next step in your dietetic career.  

  • In this role as a Dietitian, we require flexibility to cover additional areas as needed. 

  • An enhanced with Adults barred DBS, will be required for this role.
