Position: Support Worker for Children aged 16+ in Supported Accommodation
Location: North East London (Enfield & Ilford)
Salary: £2200 - £3500 per month
Start Date: February / March 2025
Weekly Work Schedule:
Minimum: 2 Day Shifts & 3 Sleeping Night Shifts (including weekends)
Maximum: 3 Day Shifts & 5 Sleeping Night Shifts (including weekends)
- Day Shift: 8am - 6pm (£125 per Shift)
- Sleeping Night Shift: 6pm - 8am (Sleeping Hours: 12-7am) (£88 per Shift)
Essential Qualifications:
- Current DBS (dated within the last 12 months).
- NVQ Level 3 or above in Health and Social Care, or a relevant discipline.
- Experience working with 16-17 year-old Children in Care
- Must be available to work nights and weekend shifts.
- Must be permitted to work in the UK without sponsorship or hourly limitation. (Unfortunately, we do not provide sponsorships)
- Strong IT and Communication Skills: Ability to write professional reports and emails and confidently use computers is a minimum requirement.

- Lone Working Role: You will be working independently, overseeing 5-8 Young People within their Supported Accommodation.
- Diverse Role: Provide one-to-one life skills training, accompany Young People to appointments, and deliver individually tailored support.
- Professional Growth: Rapid progression to Senior and Managerial roles based on performance and experience.
- Supportive Environment: Regular engagement with senior managers and 24/7 access to support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and mentor a group of Young People.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, monthly reports, and incident records using our bespoke IT system.
- Participate in monthly supervisions with experienced social workers.
- Ensure cleanliness in communal areas.
- Arrange cover for supporting YP to appointments as necessary.
- Adhere to established shift patterns as allocated monthly.

- 4-hour Trial Shift supervised by a Senior Support Worker

Onboarding & Training:
Once offered the position, all new employees will undergo a robust onboarding programme, including:
- 3x paid induction shifts with members of our Management Team
- Access to NelCare Policies and Procedures, which must be read and verified before your first unsupervised shift.
- A 20-course mandatory Leaving Care TrainingHub programme, which must be completed within your first month with NelCare.
- A new DBS, provided and paid for by NelCare.
- Casual Worker Contracts during the 4-month probation period.
- After probation, you can choose to remain on a Casual Worker Contract or accept a Full-Time Employment Contract, which includes:
- Overtime opportunities
- Paid sick days
- Paid annual leave
Career Development:
- Paid NVQs (Levels 3-6) in Health and Social Care are offered on a case-by-case basis for employees who have completed their probationary period.
- We are keen to develop our team in-house and run 1-2 Senior Support Worker fast-track positions each year, providing:
- Additional training, supervision, and development.
- Preparation for promotion to a Senior Role within NelCare's Management Team.
