Our client have been operating for 16 years and have developed a strong reputation on smaller projects predominantly within CAT A/CAT B office fit out, typically ranging in value up to 1.5m. They undertake a variety of electrical work which include large power installations, full design & build office fit outs, I.T cabling and infrastructure systems.
As part of their growth, they are looking to add an Electrical Estimator with a proven track record in fast-track D&B commercial office fit out on smaller projects up to 1.5m in value.
Fundamentally you will be responsible for the management of tenders by researching and gathering all relevant information to help win work for the Company by completing and submitting competitive tenders. As a small business working on fast-track projects, it is important that the successful candidate understands electrical design and is able to work alongside the design team.
Electrical Estimator key duties include:
- Undertake electrical tenders ensuring they fall within specifications and pricing in a timely manner
- Develop and maintain solid professional working relationships with clients and sub-contractors
- Obtain estimates and prices from sub-contractors and suppliers respectively
- Compilation of pricing using estimating software
- Get involved with site surveys as required & measure allowances made to tender proposals
- Aspects of design involvement particularly on D&B projects
- Following up on tenders for updates and providing post-tender support
- Understand electrical design and as such be able review design drawings
To be considered for this vacancy you will need to demonstrate a proven track record in a similar role either in an electrical contractor or working within the M&E division of a main contractor. Further to this you will need to possess excellent numeracy and data analysis skills, be an effective communicator with a strong work ethic, excellent organisational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
