ASD Teaching Assistant - Islington Secondary School - ASAP / January start

We are seeking a patient and committed ASD Teaching Assistant to join our Secondary School in Islington.

As an ASD Teaching Assistant, you will be offering 1:1 & group support with students that could have mild or severe ASD. You will be supporting the pupil’s in & out of the classroom. Your focus will be to help with the pupil’s overall learning and personal growth where necessary.

Role: ASD Teaching Assistant

Location:Islington

Contract: Long term

Salary: £95 + per day

Start date: ASAP or January 2025

ASD Teaching Assistant- About the role:

  • Providing tailored one-on-one support to pupils with ASD and SLCN

  • Assisting children with non-verbal communication needs

  • Supporting the curriculum and managing challenging behaviour

  • Collaborating effectively with the school's SEND team to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment

  • Previous experience in supporting children with ASD and communication needs.

  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications or a degree in a related field

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, providing a positive and nurturing environment

  • Excellent transport links and on-site parking available

Ideal Candidate - ASD Teaching Assistant:

  • Must have a degree from a reputable University - 2.1 or above

  • Previous work experience with children with ASD - Essential

  • Strong academic background

  • Confident in your ability to assist students with SEN

  • You must be flexible, proactive, and patient - Commitment to success is essential!
