Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant - Westminster

A 'Good’ Primary School in the Borough of Westminster are looking to recruit a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant.

As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant you will be working with children with severe emotional and behavioural difficulties. This includes children who have been diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, or who have behavioural difficulties which could involve physical harm, or mental health difficulties.

Each day will be different, and you will have to be resilient and adaptable in this Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant role, but it will also provide reward in equal measure as you develop your relationships with the children under your care.

In your role as Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting the children academically in the classroom, and also socially in the playground, providing them with 1:1 support and guidance throughout the day.

PERSON SPECIFICATION - Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant

  • Degree from a reputable University preferred but not essential
  • De-escalation training or Team Teach qualification would be ideal
  • Previous experience supporting children with behavioural issues is essential
  • Good understanding of SEN is required
  • Adaptable, resilient, calm and patient
