About the Role:
Are you passionate about supporting children's learning and making a real impact in the classroom? We are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant or a recent graduate with relevant experience to join a dynamic primary school in Newham. This rewarding role focuses on delivering literacy and numeracy interventions to students across varying abilities.
Working closely with the SENCo and class teachers, you will provide tailored support to small groups and individual students, helping them achieve their academic goals. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and gain valuable experience in a supportive and innovative school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted literacy and numeracy interventions under the guidance of the SENCo and class teachers.
- Support both teaching and support staff in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
- Foster positive relationships with pupils, parents, and external agencies.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Act as a positive role model and demonstrate a proactive, adaptable approach to supporting learning.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working in primary schools or within a SEND department (essential).
- A strong academic background and passion for improving literacy and numeracy.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills.
- The ability to build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- A flexible, proactive attitude and a commitment to supporting children's educational development.
