SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) - SEMH Resource BaseLocation: LambethContract: Full-timeStart Date: January 2025Job DescriptionWe are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) to join an SEMH resource base within a school in Lambeth.This role involves working alongside and supporting the leader of the SEMH base, providing care and assistance to up to three KS1 children with challenging Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.Key Responsibilities

  • Support SEMH Leader: Assist the leader of the SEMH base in daily activities and interventions.
  • Nurturing Approach: Implement nurturing strategies to support the emotional and educational development of the children.
  • Individual and Group Support: Provide tailored support to up to three KS1 children, maintaining a 3:2 ratio.
  • Behaviour Management: Use effective behaviour management techniques to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborative Planning: Work closely with the SEMH leader and other staff to plan and deliver appropriate interventions and activities.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs, particularly in a primary school setting.
  • Strong nurturing and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the SEMH leader and other staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the individual needs of each child.
