The Role: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated ASD Teaching Assistant to join this school. The successful candidate will work closely with the teaching staff to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping them to access the curriculum and develop their social and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with ASD.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Support the class teacher in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Use a range of strategies to manage and support positive behaviour.
  • Monitor and record students’ progress and provide feedback to the teaching staff.
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCO and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.

The Candidate:

  • Experience working with children with ASD is essential.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to teaching and learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and equality.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are desirable but not essential.
