Remedy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant who is willing to support key stage 3 & 4 pupils who have various SEND.

To undertake this amazing SEND Teaching Assistant role, you will be dealing with challenging behaviour and using various reinforcement strategies to provide support pupils within a primary school environment. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will collaborate with the classroom teacher and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for the student.

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.

Requirements:

  • Previous child-based experience: A proven track record of working with children in an educational or supportive capacity.
  • Experience with SEND: A solid understanding of and experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
  • DBS on the update service: A valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on the update service to ensure the safety and well-being of our students.
  • Passion for education: A genuine enthusiasm for contributing to the educational development and well-being of young individuals.
