Are you a compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with additional needs? We have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant mainstream primary school in Hackney. This role involves providing dedicated support to students requiring tailored assistance, helping them reach their full potential in an inclusive setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN needs within a mainstream classroom
  • Collaborate with class teachers and SENCO to adapt and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners
  • Use strategies to support students' academic, social, and emotional development
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Support classroom activities and maintain an inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting
  • A strong understanding of SEN and the strategies to support students effectively
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
