Teaching Assistant - Westminster

A Good primary school based in Westminster are actively recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to support across Key Stage 1. This school is a three-form entry primary school, with an alternative provision on site as well as an advanced sensory room set up for SEND pupils.

Job Description

The successful teaching assistant will be required to provide classroom support in either Year 1 or Year 2. Support the class teacher in delivering the national curriculum, focusing on core subjects such as Maths and English. As well as supporting pupils with SATS preparation if working in Year 2.

As a classroom teaching assistant, you will also help to develop the pupils with social communication, interaction and interpretation skills and play an active role in developing their confidence, self-esteem and independence.

The ideal teaching assistant will be committed to providing support to learners with a range of learning needs, be flexible in their approach and be able to work as part of a team.

Prior school-based experience is essential for this role. Applications without classroom/childcare experience will not be considered.

This is a full-time, long-term role to start ASAP and will continue until the end of the academic year (July 2025)

To be considered for this role you will need:

  • Previous classroom experience is essential.
  • SEND experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Dedicated and passionate about education
