About the Role:

A vibrant and inclusive primary school in Battersea is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time starting in September. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children's learning and development in a primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Classroom Support: Assist the class teacher in managing and supporting the educational needs of students, providing help with lessons and activities.
  • One-on-One Assistance: Work with individual students, including those with special educational needs, to provide tailored support and help them reach their full potential.
  • Group Activities: Supervise and engage with small groups of students, facilitating activities that promote learning and social interaction.
  • Classroom Management: Help maintain a positive and productive classroom environment, including managing behaviour and ensuring the safety of all students.
  • Preparation of Materials: Assist in preparing classroom materials and resources for lessons and activities, ensuring that all students have the tools they need to succeed.
  • Monitoring Progress: Observe and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and supporting the development of individual learning plans.
  • Support with Daily Routines: Assist students with daily routines, such as transitioning between activities and supporting their personal development and well-being.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a Teaching Assistant in a UK primary school.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education or childcare (e.g., Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning).
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Attributes: Patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about working with children, with a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of the UK primary school curriculum and the needs of young learners.
