SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 1 Autism and Personal Care Support

Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:- Provide 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil with Autism, helping him manage personal care needs and behavioural challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers to create and implement individualised support strategies.
- Use patience and creativity to engage the pupil in activities and encourage learning.
- Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour through structured and consistent support.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
- Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with SEN pupils.
- Strong knowledge of Autism and behaviour management strategies.
- Confidence in handling challenging behaviours and using initiative in dynamic situations.
- A caring, patient, and resilient attitude, with a genuine passion for supporting children.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one through the agency.
- Work 1:1 with a pupil, making a direct and meaningful impact.
