Teaching Assistant

A primary school in Tottenham is looking for a Teaching Assistant to provide 2:1 support for a child with Autism and behavioural challenges. This is a full-time, long-term role starting ASAP, continuing until the end of the academic year, with the potential to extend into September 2025. The Headteacher is looking for a confident, experienced, and proactive Teaching Assistant who can step into the role immediately and work effectively alongside another TA.

• Support a Year 3 pupil with Autism, working 2:1 alongside another Teaching Assistant.
• Help manage challenging behaviours, ensuring a structured and positive learning environment.
• Implement individual learning strategies and work closely with teachers and the SENCO.
• Encourage social interaction, communication, and emotional regulation.
• Support the pupil in both classroom learning and outdoor play activities.

• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly supporting children with Autism and behavioural needs.
• Strong behaviour management skills and the confidence to handle challenges effectively.
• A patient, adaptable, and resilient approach to supporting SEN pupils.
• An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through Reeson Education.
