A teaching assistant is needed for an outstanding special educational needs (SEN) school in North London for primary school students.

As a teaching assistant, you will be working closely with students who require additional support, either one-on-one or in small groups.

Willingness to do personal care is preferred.

Your responsibilities as a teaching assistant may include:

  • Working with and supporting students with learning difficulties and complex needs, which may include students with autistic spectrum disorder (ASD), or challenging behaviour.
  • Providing academic support, either one-on-one or in a small group.
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive classroom culture and providing emotional support when needed.
  • Implementing behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage focus and self-control.
  • Assisting with lesson planning and delivery.
  • Being aware of safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of students.

To be a teaching assistant you will need:

  • The right to work in the UK.
  • A clear and up-to-date DBS.
  • Experience working as a teaching assistant.
  • A patient, kind attitude with a passion to support SEN students and a keen interest in child development.
