The Role
As a Teaching Assistant for the Deaf, you will:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to students with hearing impairments.
- Assist in delivering tailored lessons under the guidance of class teachers.
- Use British Sign Language (BSL) and other communication strategies to support students' understanding and participation.
- Foster confidence, independence, and social skills in pupils.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, specialists, and families to meet individual needs.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a candidate who is:
- Proficient in BSL (Level 2 or higher preferred).
- Experienced in working with children with hearing impairments, though training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Empathetic with a passion for inclusion and education.
- Patient and Adaptable, ready to support children with diverse needs.
- Collaborative, with strong communication and teamwork skills.
