Context:

The post will sit within the Faculty Research and Impact Team which provides research and impact support to the Faculty and its researchers, including support with preparing the Faculty鈥檚 Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2029 submission.

Mainpurposeofthejob:

The postholder will scope and collate evidence of research impact relating to a number of the Faculty鈥檚 potential impact case studies which could be submitted as part of the Faculty鈥檚 REF 2029 submission.

Duties and responsibilities:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽To carry out desktop internet-based research to scope and collate evidence of research impact relating to a number of the Faculty鈥檚 potential REF 2029 impact case studies.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽To assist with liaising with external partners to request assistance with the collation of impact evidence e.g. testimonial requests.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽To produce and maintain accurate, accessible and clear summaries and records of the impact evidence collated.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽To liaise closely with the Engagement and Impact Development Manager, and with relevant researchers while carrying out this work.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽To maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality and data security in line with the University鈥檚 data security and governance policies.

Qualifications, experience and knowledge:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Experience of planning and carrying out desktop-based research for a substantive research-based project e.g. undergraduate or graduate dissertation, postdoctoral research, a research project carried out for an employer or in a voluntary role.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Demonstrable ability to carry out effective desktop internet-based research.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽An Honours degree or equivalent (or a higher degree e.g. Master鈥檚, PhD) in a subject relevant to the broad base of interdisciplinary research undertaken in the Bartlett Faculty (e.g. architecture, urban planning, geography, civil engineering, environmental studies, political science, international development, economics, sociology, psychology, statistics).

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Demonstrable ability to summarise research findings in an accessible, clear and accurate way.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Excellent written communication skills.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Good level of numerical skills.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Excellent attention to detail.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Good level of proficiency in the suite of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Demonstrable ability to use own initiative and manage a number of tasks and projects simultaneously.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Demonstrable ability to work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders at different levels.

Desirable:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽A good understanding of the requirements of the Research Excellence Framework (REF) in respect of research impact and engagement.

路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽Experience of carrying out work which supported the development of REF impact case studies.
