This Electrical Engineer opportunity offers career development within a small, but growing, and nimble team. You will be part of a niche Engineering Consultancy based in Central London who work with excellent clients across the Building Services industry, helping their clients decarbonise and become more energy efficient. As part of a decarbonisation plan, the business assesses a building’s electrical infrastructure, through analysing current supplies, loads and demand. They report on feasible options for retrofitting a suitable infrastructure to allow strategic mechanical upgrades to progress.As Electrical Engineer your role will include:
  • Visiting buildings and performing effective surveys to make recommendations on upgrade / modification works to suit heat pump installation projects.
  • Investigating and assessing existing building services systems and infrastructure.
  • Conceptual design of new electrical building services systems.
  • Producing tender documents including specifications, calculations, schematics and drawings.
  • Submitting applications and liaising with Distribution Network Operator’s (DNO) for power upgrades.
We are keen to speak to people about this Electrical Engineer role who possess the majority of the following skills and experience:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience within building services / working with net zero buildings / decarbonisation packages of work would be nice to have.
  • Good knowledge of commercial and residential buildings.
  • Demonstrable knowledge & experience working to BS 7671.
  • Experience working with Solar PV technologies from feasibility level through to technical design would be useful.
  • Strong knowledge of LV infrastructure – experience conducting LV Condition Surveys important to be able to demonstrate.
