Senior Overhead Line (OHL) Design Engineer - UK Wide Offices - Hybrid Working

What You Need to Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering (MSc preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in OHL design within the UK (National Grid projects).
  • Proficiency in OHL design software such as PLS-CADD, Tower, or Pole (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of UK standards and safety regulations for overhead line projects.
  • Proven track record of leading complex OHL projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills to support junior engineers.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across disciplines.

About the Role

As a Senior OHL Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of overhead power line projects.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Leading OHL project design, including route selection, material specification, and compliance with UK standards.
  • Managing and overseeing the technical aspects of OHL projects to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (civil, structural, electrical) and subcontractors to achieve project goals.
  • Reviewing and approving technical specifications, layouts, and reports.
  • Mentoring and developing junior engineers, sharing best practices and technical expertise.
