Astute's Power Team is partnered with a major Energy and Waste Management Company to recruit an Mechanical Technician / Maintenance Engineer for a Waste Transfer Station located at Cringle Dock, near Battersea Power Station.

We are looking ideally for someone with a background in mechanical maintenance to carry out reactive & preventative maintenance on a variety of plant across the site.

This role is working early and late shifts Monday - Friday with overtime available.

Responsibilities and duties:
Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, as the Mechanical Technician you will be responsible for:
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance in line with company policies and relevant legislation.
  • Adjusting and installing equipment to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Provide breakdown support and technical support.
  • Assist with the management of the maintenance & stores database.
  • Support with Risk Assessments, Method Statements & Permit to Work to ensure Safe Systems of Work.



Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Apprentice trained with a relevant Engineering qualification



Personal skills
The Mechanical Technician would suit someone who has:
  • At least three years electrical experience ideally in an industrial setting
  • Familiar with both Mechanical & Electrical industrial plant such as motors, conveyors, compactors, shredders etc
  • Competent with IT equipment
  • Able to work heavy plant
